OD or Origin Destination Matrix is a description of movement in a certain area and is used to assess the demand for transportation. In an OD Matrix each cell is an intersection of a trip from an origin to a destination, and the higher the number of these trips the more this route is in demand. An OD matrix is necessary for planning a transportation system, but it was notoriously difficult to calculate in the past. Today, using mobility intelligence, an OD Matrix can be easily calculated.
